The European Training and Simulation Association was formally formed on 12th November 2003 at an inaugural meeting in Paris of;

Captain John Rees, RN (formerly Director Naval Training & Education, Naval Recruiting & Training Agency. UK),

Martin Deister (EADS Dornier, Germany),

Peter Bertschinger (Oerlikon Contraves, Switzerland),

Hans Jense (TNO, The Netherlands),

Commander Jim Hammersley RN (Director General Training & Education, MOD, UK)

Richard Curtis (Andrich International Limited, UK), and

Anne Thomas (AMS, UK/Italy).

Not at the meeting but on the initial Board were Jean-Louis Igarza of the French MoD, DGA and Christian Mathey of Thales.

Originally formed as a company limited by guarantee,
ETSA converted to become a Community Interest Company (CIC) and registered with Companies House on 16
th June 2010. (Company Number 07287729)
